From the SureWest Facebook page.
SureWest now carries The Pac-12 Network!! The Pac-12 Network is dedicated solely to the world class programs of the Pac-12 Conference which will televise hundreds of live collegiate sporting events annually, including more than 30 football games, 140 men’s basketball games and hundreds of Olympic sports.
Pac-12 Network (Bay Area) is now available for our CA residential and commercial ADTV customers within the following packages:
• Digital Choice channel 160
• True HD channel 626
Customers throughout the Sacramento region who don't want to get the network via Comcast or Dish now have another alternative. Sacramento is the primary market for SureWest, which originated from Roseville but is now available in other neighborhoods like Roseville (which is where SureWest originates from), Citrus Heights, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Antelope, Carmichael, Elk Grove, and Lincoln (all based in the Sacramento region).
SureWest says that the roll-out will only be available this year for their California customers, with the hope for a potential expansion to their Kansas and Missouri markets next year.

You know, if the Pac-12 Network and DirecTV were really negotiating with one another, I doubt we'd see nonsense like this from one side.
DIRECTV has always been a sports leader. We hope to reach a deal soon w the #Pac12, just like we did w the #BigTen, #SEC, #Big12 & #BigEast.

Seriously, who goes about naming five other college conferences, particularly when four of them are doing nothing similar to what the Pac-12 is trying to do? Is the satellite company just trying to tell the rest of the world that the conference they're dealing with is being difficult in hopes they'll get a better deal?
DirecTV and the Pac-12 seem to be in a holding pattern right now. The Pac-12 wants things done their way (which is the way they've done things with all their other partners), and DirecTV isn't willing to budge and wants things done on their terms (which would mean in turn that the conference would have to renege and offer similar deals to their partners). It's rather nasty business, and each side seems to think the other will fold. Larry Scott doesn't seem willing to go any further, and isn't willing to take the plan the satellite carrier offered out. DirecTV has yet to show any signs that they're budging from their current plans regarding the network.
Hence, holding pattern, and passive-aggressive name-calling. That's where we're at here.
