Go back to the 2013 Pac-12 Basketball Recruiting Board.
School and location: St. John Bosco, Los Angeles, CA
Measurables: 6-4/6-5, around 170 to 180 pounds
Position: Shooting guard
Schools considering: Last year Hamilton had Arizona, USC, St. John's, UConn, Washington and Washington State up there, then said Arizona, USC, UCLA and Colorado were doing the best overall. That was about a year ago. So no one has no real idea.
Early looks: Hamilton doesn't overwhelm you with athleticism, but he makes up for it with skills and outstanding physical attributes. Hamilton doesn't always leap high (particularly when he finishes at the rim), but he possesses a great wingspan that allows him to stroke it without fear of getting the shot blocked. Hamilton also is a sharp passer.
Hamilton does a good job in transition, although he doesn't usually go up there with power, instead finishing fast and furiously with the layups. He seems comfortable with his stroke, even leaning back to try and get a better angle on the stroke instead of pulling straight up. He also works well off screens. Those skills are probably why he's being recruited so highly--he's ready to get plugged into a college system and produce when he gets fully developed.
- Younger brother of current NBA player Jordan Hamilton.
