Pac-12 Football Recruiting: Jordan Payton, Zach Banner, Andrus Peat, Kyle Murphy Updates

Jordan Payton (WR, Oaks Christian)
has apparently made up his mind about where he's attending college. This is coming off a weekend trip to UW, and it's becoming clear that the Huskies should feel like they're in good shape after Payton indicated he won't be making an unofficial visit to Cal. Also, Payton was treated like royalty in Seattle, as Husky basketball fans noticed his presence. Payton had positive things to say about Sark as well.

Zach Banner (OT, Lakes) really thought his visit to USC was the best of them all. Expect Banner's recruitment to come down to three schools: Oklahoma, USC and Washington, with all of them having significant factors in their favor. Good luck trying to figure out where he ends up.

Joshua Garnett (OG, Puyallup) had his in-home visit with Brady Hoke and Michigan (link attached is paid), and they could be the biggest contenders to knock off Stanford and land his huge offensive line talent.

Jeremy Castro (DE, Vista Murrieta) switched his commitment from Oregon to UCLA, giving the Bruins another nice defensive recruit. And yes, Castro seemed to make the move before he even knew Kelly was leaving, so don't think that Kelly's return will bring Castro back on board.

Andrus Peat (OT, Corona Del Sol) was accepted into Stanford, which could make a big difference in his decision. Peat is not making a visit to Florida State this week, which probably eliminates the Seminoles. Looking like a Nebraska-Stanford battle, with USC a dark horse.

Bryce Treggs (WR, St. John Bosco) Is still committed to Cal but liked his UCLA visit and will be looking at USC before his Cal unofficial this weekend.

Kenneth Crawley (CB, H.D. Woodson) made his commitment to Colorado. This is a big pickup for the Buffs, who have now a bona fide talent at cornerback and one of the top prospects in the country to fill out their recruiting class.

Cleveland Wallace (DB, Oak Grove) enjoyed his Boise State visit, but did he enjoy it enough to decommit?

Kyle Murphy (OT, San Clemente) is starting to look like a dead-heat battle between USC and Stanford. Murphy was considered a lean to the Cardinal before his visit to the Trojans this weekend.

Laiu Moeakiola (S, Trinity) decommitted from UCLA and has ASU as his new leader.

Looks like the Long Beach Five is sticking together as best they can. Richard Smith (WR, Long Beach Poly) is now solid on his commitment to ASU. Matt Rowe (LB, Long Beach Poly) will be doing the same, as will Josiah Blandin (WR, Long Beach Poly), as discussed here.

More recruiting news to come later on.
