Announcements and Commitments
Arik Armstead (DL, Pleasant Grove) announced for the Oregon Ducks over schools like Cal and Washington, as well as USC, UCLA and Auburn. In terms of further details, Armstead will play both football and basketball, enroll in spring quarter, and credits the lack of negative recruiting by Oregon. Addicted to Quack has more on the story.
Devin Fuller (ATH, Old Tappan) picked UCLA over Rutgers, Arizona, TCU and Nebraska. Fuller would be a dual-threat quarterback option to contrast with the pro-style ability of T.J. Millweard. Bruins Nation discusses this commitment.
Vincent Hobbs (TE, Horn) committed to Colorado this weekend. Ralphie Report has more.
Clive Georges (WR, Key West) might be one of those under-the-radar guys that suits Arizona just fine, as he made his commitment this weekend.
Jeffrey Coprich (ATH, West Ranch) appears to be the next RB recruit for Cal football, beating out Hawaii. California Golden Blogs covers Coprich's story more thoroughly.
Chris Young (CB, Arizona Western JC) is staying in-state.
Making Decisions
Zach Banner (OT, Lakes) will announce his decision today at 2:30 PM at his high school. Oklahoma, USC, and Washington are the supposed finalists.
Davonte Neal (ATH, Chaparral) is now being looked at seriously by Oklahoma, which could mean trouble for Arizona. Neal (who is probably waiting until after Signing Day) is looking at changing his final official visit to the Sooners. Ohio State and North Carolina (this past weekend) have also gotten late attention.
Shaq Thompson (S, Grant) took an unofficial trip to Washington with his old Grant teammate James Sample hosting him. Shaq has a final four of Cal, Oregon, Washington and UCLA.
Brandon Beaver (CB, Dominguez) is interested in Cal after his official visit ($). Washington and Utah are also likely in the final mix.
Cedric Dozier (WR, Lakes) is apparently down to Cal and Washington State and could make his decision anytime before Signing Day. No UW.
Aziz Shittu (DL, Buhach Colony) made his final official visit to UCLA ($). Cal, Stanford and USC are the only other remaining schools left out of the final four Shittu is considering.
Seth Jacobs (OLB, Arroyo Grande) has the Bruins in the mix after his official. Either UCLA or Colorado will enter his final three along with Oklahoma State and Arkansas.
Jordan Payton (WR, Oaks Christian) took a visit to UCLA this weekend.
Bryce Treggs (WR, St. John Bosco) took his official to USC ($) before spending an unofficial trip at Cal.
Javon Williams (WR, Chandler) will reveal his final decision on FoxSportsArizona.com at 10 am. Williams is down to UCLA and Arkansas and enjoyed his final official with the Bruins.
Kodi Whitfield (WR, Loyola) stuck with his Stanford decision after a late charge from UCLA.
Steven Lakalaka (RB, Punahou) switched his verbal commitment from UCLA to Hawaii, and Taylor Tailulu (S, Kamehameha) did the same by transferring from Washington State to Hawaii.
Jamar Allah (CB, North Canyon) might be on the verge of an in-state switch.
Kenneth Walker (ATH, JFK) could be making a switch from Cal.
Malcolm Lewis (WR, Miramar) did visit UCLA. He enjoyed the visit, but was it enough to sway him out of his Miami commitment?
Julian Brooks (WR, Sierra Canyon) won't be playing for Arizona. A few Pac-12 schools could be taking a look.
Justin Davidson (TE, Russell), unheralded prospect out of Kentucky, appears to have gotten a Pac-12 offer.
Dejon Allen (OG, Dominguez) is on his way out of the Pac-12 after his ASU decommit.
Kentrell Brice (CB, Ruston) won't be making a cross-country trip to play football for Oregon State.
Chans Cox (2013 LB, Blue Ridge) could be headed to Junior Day somewhere.
