The Oregon Ducks probably didn't anticipate their season ending in San Antonio. Oregon started their season 8-0 and seemed on an inexorable march to Pasadena for the BCS National title game. But another heartbreaking loss against Stanford and a devastating defeat to Arizona later, here Oregon stands on the edge of the BCS for the first time since 2008.
The Texas Longhorns will be their competition, and at first glance it doesn't seem like much of a contest. Texas struggled against Oklahoma State and were devastated by the Oregon of the Big 12 in Baylor. But Texas did manage to slow Baylor down, and their defense is full of good talent that should be able to hold the Ducks down. Moreover, this will be the final game for Mack Brown as Texas head coach, so you can expect a pretty inspired performance by the Horns to send their beloved leader out the door.
