UCLA basketball recruiting: Carlton Bragg, Josh Perkins, Thomas Welsh, Jordan McLaughlin updates

The UCLA Bruins are active on the recruiting trail under new head coach Steve Alford. Plenty of top 2014, 2015, 2016 players are being watched.

2015 Cleveland (OH.) Villa Angela St Joseph power forward Carlton Bragg landed a UCLA offer. Bragg has offers from Illinois, Missouri, Ohio State, Texas, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Bragg already loved his visit ($) to Westwood.

Two UCLA recruiting prospects are being observed by the staff. Henderson (Nv.) Findlay Prep shooting guard Rashad Vaughn and Huntington (W.V.) Prep point guard Josh Perkins are participating at the Reebok Breakout Classic. UCLA head coach Steve Alford and David Grace are in Philadelphia to watch both prospects. Perkins took a visit to Westwood recently.

Alford was also in Indiana along with assistant coach Ed Schilling, watching 17U Dream Vision and Compton Magic 16U.

UCLA assistant Duane Broussard watched Santa Ana (Ca.) Mater Dei small forward Stanley Johnson, 2015 Oakland (Ca.) Bishop O'Dowd power forward Ivan Raab, and 2015 Los Angeles (Ca.) Loyola point guard Max Hazzard in South Carolina.

Etiwanda (Ca.) point guard Jordan McLaughlin has been offered and will visit UCLA.

Los Angeles (Ca.) Loyola center Thomas Welsh was offered by the Bruins and says everything still even in his recruitment.

2015 Rochester (NY) Bishop Kearney power forward Thomas Bryant received a boatload of offers, including UCLA, Ohio State, Florida, and Miami.

Philadelphia (Pa.) Neumann-Goretti point guard Ja'Quan Newton expected to get an offer soon.

Indianapolis (In.) Park Tudor school forward Trevon Bluiett will officially visit the Bruins ($).

Henderson (Nv.) Findlay Prep shooting guard Namon Wright wants to visit UCLA, as does Fort Bend (Tx.) Findlay Prep small forward Kelly Oubre.

Middletown (Dl.) Saint Andrew's School power forward Ben Bentil is also interested, as did Las Vegas (Nv.) Bishop Gorman power forward Chase Jeter ($).
