Four games this week. Plenty of lines that are a bit puzzling, but not all that really.
Stanford 17 to 18 point favorites vs. Washington State: Easily the most baffling line of the week. Stanford has had trouble scoring from anywhere this season and now are being spotted three scores against the Cougars. Washington State is coming off a record FBS passing game, which means the Cardinal are going to have a lot to work on.
California 1.5 to 3 point favorites vs. Washington: Cal was originally 2.5 point underdogs before some quick line action moved them back into positive position. The Bears can definitely score plenty, but do they have the defense to stop anyone? Not clear at this point.
Oregon 3 to 3.5 point favorites vs. UCLA: The Ducks and Bruins are both reeling after losses they probably weren’t anticipating. Now this potential Pac-12 championship preview doesn’t have quite the luster it once did, but it’s compelling for other reasons—the loser is almost certainly eliminated from the College Football Playoff race.
USC 2 to 2.5 point favorites vs. Arizona: The Trojans are reeling from a late collapse to Arizona State. The Wildcats are soaring after upsetting Oregon on the road in Eugene. Now Arizona comes home to one of the biggest games in the program’s history as they look to ensure their Pac-12 South position before their showdown with UCLA. Can USC get back in the game?
