2017 four-star center Daniel Mading commits to Arizona State

Bobby Hurley opens his class of 2017 with a bang.

Bobby Hurley and the Arizona State Sun Devils are one of the biggest surprises in the NCAA so far this season at 10-3.

Hurley's Sun Devils are on a four-game winning streak. As if his 2015 wasn't already looking to end on a high note, it certainly will now, given Tuesday night's news that 2017 four-star center Daniel Mading would be committing to the program.

Scout's Evan Daniels was the first to report Mading's commitment.

Mading, from Australia originally, plays his high school basketball for Hurley's father, Bob, at New Jersey's famed St. Anthony's High School.

The big man was widely recruited before committing, holding offers from LSU, Missouri, St. John's, Seton Hall, and others.

Mading's most recent highlight tape, from last season, can be seen below. He's very good with the ball, and has great speed for a big man, though he could afford to put on some mass before he arrives in Tempe.
