Pac-12 Bracketology 2/2: Three Pac-12 teams in, but four near the bubble

A weekly breakdown of how Pac-12 teams stand in regards to their NCAA Tournament seeding.

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

In barring disaster

Arizona 20-2 (8-1)

Seed: 2, maybe 1 RPI: 4

Good wins (wins over teams I think will make the tournament: Gonzaga, Utah, at Stanford, San Diego State

Toughest remaining game: 2/28 at Utah

The Wildcats are fighting it out for a number one seed right now and their win over Gonzaga could be integral if it comes down to them and the Bulldogs for the top seed in the West.

Utah 17-4 (7-2)

Seed: 4-5 RPI: 11

Good wins: Wichita State

Toughest remaining game: 2/28 Arizona

The Utes are the clear cut second banana in the Pac-12 this year and could make  a run at a two seed if they finish strong enough.

In, but a lot of work to do

Stanford 15-6 (6-3)

Seed: 7-10 RPI: 31

Good wins: at Texas Bad losses: at DePaul, at Washington State

Toughest remaining game: 3/7 at Arizona

Stanford is in for now, but they are stuck in the dreaded 7-10 range unless they can get a signature win over Arizona or Utah and take care of all of the games they should win.

Close to the bubble

None of these teams are actually on the bubble yet in my opinion, but they could get there if they string a few wins together.

Oregon 15-7 (5-4)

Seed: NIT RPI: 71

Good wins: None Bad losses: at Washington State

Toughest remaining game: 2/22 Utah

The Ducks are that classic team that has a good overall record in a good conference, but hasn't really beaten anyone meaning they probably are not yet really in contention for the NCAA Tournament.

Washington 14-7 (3-6)

Seed: NIT-C Tournament RPI: 74

Good wins: Oklahoma, San Diego State Bad losses: Stony Brook, Washington State

Toughest remaining game: 2/13 Arizona

The Huskies were already starting to slip away from the bubble before they had to dismiss Robert Upshaw, now they are on fire and plummeting from the bubble.

Oregon State 14-7 (5-4)

Seed: NIT-C Tournament RPI: 84

Good wins: Arizona Bad losses: Auburn, Quinnipiac

Toughest remaining game: 2/19 Utah

The Beavers took a major hit with a bad trip to Arizona, but they are not out of being a darkhorse tournament candidate yet.

UCLA 13-9 (5-4)

Seed: NIT-C Tournament RPI: 63

Good wins: Utah, Stanford Bad losses: None

Toughest remaining game: 2/21 at Arizona

The Bruins don't have a great record, but that is primarily because they played a monster non-conference slate. They are still in the hunt, especially fresh off a win over Utah.

Hanging by a thread

These are super longshots, but still have a miniscule chance of making the tournament if they can finish the regular season with maybe 2-3 losses and a good Pac-12 Tournament run.

Colorado 11-10 (4-5)

Seed: C Tournament RPI: 99

Good wins: None Bad losses: at Hawaii

Toughest remaining game: 2/26 Arizona

Cal 13-9 (3-6)

Seed: C Tournament RPI: 109

Good wins: Wyoming Bad losses: Cal State Bakersfield, Washington State at USC

Toughest remaining game: 3/5 at Arizona

The Bears have a decent overall record, but have not played well in-conference. However, they have the talent to have a major turnaround.
