Get used to seeing pictures of Jim Mora smirking today because it sounds like he is going to be a happy man after landing 4 star tight end Chris Clark and the top back in the nation, Soso Jamabo, to start his day.
What kind of player are the Bruins getting in the running back from Texas?
Soso Jamabo - 5 star running back
Jamabo is taller than your average running back. He's close to 6'3 to go with a solid 210 pounds. That height might scare some people into thinking he may be destined to move to another position in the future, but I don't see that being the case.
He's an exceptional athlete with phenomenal burst and great long speed. His lateral agility and feet are so good. He is able to plant and move so effortlessly. He can make defenders miss tackles as easily as he can run away from them. He's a very good zone runner that explodes through creases. With his speed, most would assume he is looking to bounce it all the time, but he displays good vision and is a solid inside runner.
Even though I think he'll stick at running back, it wouldn't be a shock to see him move to wide receiver either. He's a natural hands catcher and a dangerous weapon out of the backfield. He played some receiver at The Opening and did a great job of going up and competing for the football.
I know UCLA returns Paul Perkins next season, but it's going to be tough to not get Jamabo some touches on offense in the fall. He's a threat to score every catch or carry and is a massive pickup for the Bruins.
