Freshman transfer Sedrick Barefield has committed to Utah after leaving SMU, his AAU coach tweeted earlier this week.

Barefield, who appeared in five games for the SMU Mustangs this season, hails from Corona, California.
Barefield played one semester at SMU, so he would only have to sit out the first semester next season before being eligible for the Utes.
