Pacific Takes Top 25 11/21: Colorado and USC move into Top 10

Our Pac-12-focused Top 25 has three Pac-12 teams in the Top 10

NCAA Football: Washington State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Things settled down nationally coming off a crazy week. Let’s check in how the Pac-12 teams slide into our Top 25 this week.

  1. Alabama 11-0
  2. Ohio State 10-1
  3. Michigan 10-1
  4. Clemson 10-1
  5. Washington 10-1 - The Huskies started slowly against Arizona State, but they pulled away in the second quarter and their defense played their best game in a really long time. Almost everything the Huskies could hope for this season is probably still on the table, but they have to win at Washington State this Friday to keep the dream alive and win the Pac-12 North. No easy task.
  6. Wisconsin 9-2
  7. Penn State 9-2
  8. Oklahoma 9-2
  9. Colorado 9-2 - The Buffs were impressive in a showdown against Washington State. They held Luke Falk and Mike Leach’s offense to just 24 points while they ran all over Washington State’s good run defense. They can (at least in my opinion) keep themselves at outside Playoff contenders if they can beat Utah this weekend.
  10. USC 8-3 - The Trojans are officially that team that started horribly this year, but are among the nation’s best by the end of the season. They have to hope Utah can upset Colorado this weekend, but they could make a run up into the Top 5 by the end of the season if all goes right.
  11. Florida 8-2
  12. Oklahoma State 9-2
  13. Louisville 9-2
  14. Washington State 8-3 - The Cougars weren’t able to make a huge statement in Boulder, but no worries, the North is still in their control if they can make a statement and win the Apple Cup in Pullman. The Rose Bowl is still in reach.
  15. Stanford 8-3 - Everyone might be talking about USC, but Stanford is the other Pac-12 team that hit a rough patch and is now playing like the team everyone thought they could be. They could sneak into the Top 10 by the end of the season.
  16. Nebraska 9-2
  17. West Virginia 8-2
  18. Auburn 8-3
  19. Florida State 8-3
  20. Navy 8-2
  21. Houston 9-2
  22. Western Michigan 11-0
  23. Texas A&M 8-3
  24. Utah 8-3 - The Utes suffered a crushing loss at home to Oregon and take a huge tumble. The less wasn’t just bad for Utah, it was bad for everyone in the Pac-12 other than Oregon and USC.
  25. Tennessee 8-3
