Week 9: Pac-12 Football Power Rankings

Washington has separated themselves from Pac

Washington v Utah

1.Washington Huskies (8-0)

Chris Peterson’s group has officially separated themselves from everyone in the conference and are the Pac-12 last hope for a playoff contender. They still have some trick games on the schedule like traveling to Cal but I have confidence in the Huskies.

2. Utah Utes (7-2)

Utah, you had your chance. You blew it. They had Washington exactly where they wanted them but a punt return later lead to another Washington victory. The Utes want revenge and winning the Pac-12 South will give them the rematch they desire.

3. Colorado Buffaloes (6-2)

Ralphie is running up the rankings. Colorado has a favorable schedule has them in place for a Pac-12 South run. Their fate is in their own hands, win and their in.

4. USC Trojans (5-3)

What a turnaround for the Trojans. After a terrible start they have started playing as we all expected them to play from the beginning of the season. The Trojans will try and continue their momentum as they host a downtrodden Oregon team.

5. Washington State (6-2)

Leach will not be denied. Wazzu is having one of its best season in recent memory and it is all leading up to the last game of the season, the Apple Cup.

6. Stanford Cardinal (5-3)

The Cardinal has been trying to revive it’s disappointing season. Their aspirations of New Year’s bowls have ended up in the trash and now the Cardinal just wants to make a bowl. Playing Oregon State is a good way to get a win.

7. Cal Bears (4-4)

Davis Webb and company fell flat and disappointed against USC. Cal’s hopes of becoming bowl eligible are slowly slipping away and their next game against Washington will be of national championship caliber for the Bears.

8. Arizona State Sun Devils (5-4)

The Sun Devils are a team without anything to lose playing a Utah team with everything to lose. Todd Graham’s team will come out ready to play and try and play spoiler for Utah’s Pac-12 South chances.

9. UCLA Bruins (3-5)

Joe Williams will be in every UCLA fan’s nightmares for a long time to come. And with the news of Rosen being out for the season, the Bruins are in a pretty lousy place. Traveling to Colorado this week could either revive their season or continue the downward spiral.

10. Oregon Ducks (3-5)

Let’s ask the weekly question, what is defense? Oregon wins a shootout, water is also wet and the sun is hot. Those are all things that we know happen all the time. Oregon will probably be in another shootout as they travel to USC.

11. Oregon State Beavers (2-6)

At least Jacquizz Rodgers is doing well, right? Oh, he’s hurt? Well there goes Oregon State’s last bit of happiness.

12. Arizona Wildcats (2-6)

Rich Rodriguez, how’s that seat feeling? Is it warm? Leach and the Washington State Cougars will look to crank up the heat on the Wildcats.
