Pac-12 bowl projections: 11/30: Washington Huskies make the Peach Bowl and College Football Playoff

As of today, Washington deserves a Playoff spot.

Peach Bowl - Washington vs. Alabama

The Huskies have done enough to earn a Playoff spot in the regular season. Now they have to beat Colorado and put pressure on the Playoff committee to pass them up for either a two-loss Big Ten team. I don’t think they can justify it, but as a lifelong Pac-12 fan, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Rose Bowl - USC vs. Wisconsin

The Trojans might be in the best spot of anyone in the Pac-12. If Washington wins and goes to the Playoffs, I think they land in the Rose Bowl. If Colorado wins and takes the Rose Bowl, I think they go to the Cotton Bowl.

Alamo Bowl - Stanford vs. Oklahoma State

Colorado should be here, but I feel like the Alamo Bowl might jump on showcasing what should be Christian McCaffrey’s last game and a team that has just as few of losses as Colorado does.

Holiday Bowl - Colorado vs. Minnesota

This might seem like a big drop for Colorado, but it is the best bowl they will have gone to in more than 15 years.

Foster Farms Bowl - Washington State vs. Indiana

That Apple Cup was a big swing game for the Cougars, a win would have put the Rose Bowl in play, but the lose drops them down to Santa Clara. Still, this is the best bowl they will have played in since 2003.

Sun Bowl - Utah vs. Virginia Tech

The Utes went down to the bottom of the Pac-12 truly bowl eligible totem pole. Not where they wanted to be two weeks ago, but still a good bowl for a program that has yet to win the Pac-12 South.

Las Vegas Bowl - Arizona State vs. San Diego State

I’m not sure the 5-7 Pac-12 teams would even take bowl invites, but I think the Las Vegas bowl would take a nearby 5-7 Arizona State over a 5-7 Cal/San Diego State rematch.

Cactus Bowl - Cal vs. Texas Tech

5-7 vs. 5-7. Hey somebody has to go.
