Pac-12 division race breakdown 11/9: Washington schools, Colorado and Utah control destinies

It looks like the division races won’t be over until the final week.

NCAA Football: Washington at California Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Only three weeks left and the Pac-12 division races are heating up.

Here is how they stack up heading into this week of play.

North

Control their own destiny

Washington 9-0 (6-0)

Remaining schedule: USC, Arizona State, at Washington State

The Huskies control their own destiny, but they are going to have to fight for it tooth and nail against USC this week and most-likely in Pullman in the Apple Cup, even if the Cougars slip up once in the next couple of weeks.

Washington State 7-2 (6-0)

Remaining schedule: Cal, at Colorado, Washington

The Cougars are in a good spot, where they control their destiny even if they lose in the next two weeks, don’t have the crushing Playoff pressure the Huskies have and get the Huskies in Pullman to close the season.

South

Control their own destiny

Colorado 7-2 (5-1)

Remaining schedule: at Arizona, Washington State, Utah

It’s all in the Buffs’ hands, but like Washington, they are going to have to fight for it in the last two weeks as they host Washington State and Utah.

Utah 7-2 (4-2)

Remaining schedule: at Arizona State, Oregon, at Colorado

The Utes are down in a game in the standings, but still have control as long as they win out since they close at Colorado.

Need Help

USC 6-3 (5-2)

Remaining schedule: at Washington, at UCLA

The good news for the Trojans is they are still alive and have the tie-breaker with Colorado. The bad news, is they are almost all but eliminated unless they win at Washington this Saturday.
