I would like to break it down into: Defensive Line, Secondary, Offensive Line, QB, Receivers/Tight Ends, Running Backs and Special Teams. I'll get the conversation started.

Defensive Line: #1 Get pressure on Jalen Hurts. #2 Stop the run near line of scrimmage on 50% of run plays.

Secondary: #1 Intercept Hurts at least twice. #2 Prevent Hurts from getting runs of 10+ yards

QB: Browning needs to get the ball out quicker than any other game he has played. He will have to get rid of the ball and avoid taking sacks.

Receivers: John Ross and Dante Pettis need to get big plays. Need at least a couple plays 40+ yards to make this game competitive. Chico McClatcher will need to convert quick route plays into first downs. Daniels will need to haul in a few catches in tight coverage.

Running backs: Gaskin needs to find a way to beat Bama's defensive line. He will have to get creative and make guys miss. Coleman will need to summon his best game of his career to get first downs on short yardage.

Special Teams: Need to break at least one huge return from Pettis or Ross of 30+ yards. Can not afford to miss any field goals under 40 yards.

DL: play the game of their lives to stop the Bama run to force Hurts to beat them

Secondary: when Hurts makes an inevitable bad throw, capitalize, because there won't be many chances

OLine: survive long enough to keep Browning upright

Skill players: can't have any needless drops or mistakes, hope John Ross can break one off deep

Special Teams: some trickeration is in order methinks

Ways to beat Bama- hope they miss their flight

Hope they forget what time the game is

Hope they get locked in the locker room

Hope their gear truck didn't show up

josebouquett

Hope Nick Saban is tired of coaching and retires and takes his whole staff with him

3 hook and ladders and one Statue of Liberty as well

taylorhenry9

Hope tom Brady has eligibility left

josebouquett

Hope Jake Browning reaches level 35 and evolves into a Charzard

Hope that the stadium lights go out on the last play of the game when Alabama needs a TD

Simeonmoses

These are all very helpful suggestions. I will get them to Chris Petersen right away.

Josebouquett

If UW is to win this game it's going to be like 10-3. Extremely low scoring. Pray the defense has their best game ever and squeak out a TD somewhere

Simeonmoses

josebouquett thank you for the one serious response.

taylorhenry9

My responses were serious....

josebouquett

Over under 20 points for UW?

taylorhenry9

As of today I'm thinking 38-17 Bama

josebouquett

I don't think UW can get 20 unless they get garbage time points. The only way I can see it is if Ross gets loose and Brown Bag can run around a bit

ryanlarson

Charizard evolves at level 36. You're welcome for this contribution

Simeonmoses

I agree about Ross getting loose. Even with USC defense and losing Ross ran for 154 yards so he can still get yards and score against good defenses.

I think the biggest factor that nobody is talking about is Alabama starting a true freshman QB. While Jalen Hurts has had a great year, no one knows how he is going to react when the brightest lights of all come on. Alabama's overall skill gives them more cushion to win even if Hurts has a subpar game. However, if Browning can have a big game while UW's defense contains Hurts, UW does indeed have a chance. QB play for each team against a great defense is the x factor here and the one thing that gives UW a realistic shot at shocking the world.

taylorhenry9

Browning against 3 good defenses has been :hankey:

josebouquett

At least he's had a lot of time to prepare. I trust Brown Bag over Hurts but Bama's defense is just other worldly

dc23az

I knew that was coming Taylor, almost included your opinion in my response lol

Not that it's just an opinion

josebouquett

Browning will be the best QB the Bama defense has seen this year so maybe hey have a chance of scoring 3 times

Maybe

taylorhenry9

Browning is throwing at least one TD to the other team.

josebouquett

Yeah he can't do that if they want to win. One pick 6 and it's the beginning of the end

dc23az

I'd like UW's chances a whole lot more if the LB's weren't hurt

Simeonmoses

@dc23az I agree. No Victor or Mathis hurts a lot

One last parting shot. Lawyer Milloy, former Washington Husky and NFL safety, wrote in the Player's Tribune today about Washington being underestimated by the world at large. A great read for those who are skeptical of Washington's chances of beating Alabama.
