Best case scenario: 6-6 (4-5)
The Buffs are so ready for a breakout season. They have improved a lot under Mike MacIntyre and have come so close to winning six or seven games in a season the past few seasons. If senior QB Sefo Liufau gets healthy, the team continues to improve across the board and finally gets some breaks, they can make it to a bowl and climb out of the South cellar.
The Buffs can knock out a gimme win against Idaho State, win their rivalry game against a middling Colorado State and take care of struggling Oregon State at home. I'm not betting on the Buffs winning at Michigan, Oregon, USC or Stanford, so that means they would have to win three games against teams they have played really well in recent seasons. They could easily win three out of five in these games - Arizona State, UCLA, at Arizona, Washington State and Utah.
Worst case scenario: 1-11 (0-9)
Like I said with Cal, I doubt this happens, but this is a worst case scenario and someone in the Pac-12 is going to have to have a really bad season (probably Cal, Colorado or Oregon State). The Buffs will beat Idaho State, but if Liufau isn't healthy and they start a true freshman at quarterback and things start out bad quickly, the pressure on MacIntyre could burst and the Buffs could have a nightmare season with the only Pac-12 game they really should be favored in against Oregon State.
