Pac-12 bowl projections 11/15: USC Trojans in Fiesta Bowl

Pac-12 teams mostly fail to make big bowl games.

NCAA Football: Southern California at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Fiesta Bowl - USC vs. TCU - Hot take - USC might get into the Playoff...okay, I won’t go that far yet, but they will get damn close again and get the best bowl game possible without getting in.

Alamo Bowl - Washington vs. Iowa State - The Huskies Playoff hopes are gone and the glut of one and two-loss teams with stronger resumes than them should push them out of the top-tier bowls and down to this snake pit in Texas against a Big 12 giant killer.

Holiday Bowl - Stanford vs. Iowa - The Cardinal could roll into bowl season with five losses. I would put Washington State here, but they were in San Diego last year and Stanford has never been in the Holiday Bowl.

Foster Farms Bowl - Arizona vs. Northwestern - No one wants to play Arizona right now and they could easily be the second-best team in the Pac-12. They’ll land in a great spot given preseason expectations.

Sun Bowl - Washington State vs. Florida State - The dominoes in the conference are going to fall all over the place depending on the next two weeks and a very good team is going to get sent to El Paso, sadly. That team right now looks like WSU.

Las Vegas Bowl - Oregon vs. Boise State - The Ducks aren’t where they were a few years ago, but they’re headed back in the right direction and in a bowl against what could be a Top 25 opponent and a rematch of Chip Kelly’s first game and The Punch.

Cactus Bowl - Arizona State vs. Kansas State - The Sun Devils are getting a bowl in their hometown against a team I think will be 5-7.

Armed Forces Bowl - Army vs. UCLA - UCLA is going to end up somewhere at-large if they accept a bowl invite.

Arizona Bowl - Colorado State vs. Utah - Same for Utah. I think they have a better chance to accept given I don’t think they fire their coach.
