Oregon State offers two top-level 2018 recruits

Beavers offer a wide receiver and an offensive lineman

NCAA Football: Oregon at Oregon State Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

The Oregon State Beavers offered former LSU commit, 2018 4-star wide receiver Kenan Jones on Wednesday.

Jones originally committed to LSU right ahead of National Signing Day 2017. However, Jones decommitted from the Tigers back on Feb. 24.

Here is what Jones told SEC Country on why decommitted: “(LSU) still up there at the top. I’m going to take it (the recruiting process) slow, but I should have a top five coming out before the season starts.”

It may be an uphill battle for Oregon State to land Jones as LSU is seen still as the top destination for Jones by many recruiting sites.

Jones also has offers from Oregon, Florida State and Louisville.

The 6-foot-3, Berwick, LA native isn’t the only top notch 2018 recruit the Beavers offered Wednesday. Oregon State also offered 5-star offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer, who is the No. 7 overall recruit in the country.

Salyer also has offers Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon. According to 247Sports, Georgia and Alabama are considered the top-2 contenders for Salyer’s services.
