Plant is the third commitment of the Wildcats’ 2018 recruiting class.

Bishop Gorman 3-star defensive end Adam Plant visited the Arizona Wildcats in early March. After several weeks of weighing options, he decided that Arizona was the place for him as he announced his commitment to the Wildcats Wednesday night.

Here is SB Nation’s Arizona blog, Arizona Desert Swarm’s take on Plant:

“I really like this commitment. Plant is a great defensive lineman and one of the top ends in the West. He is extremely quick off the line. He has an explosive burst of speed to start off and has a great motor. He is able to stop on a dime and change direction to stop the ball carrier in the backfield. He also has the awareness to pinpoint the quarterback and give chase. One attribute that sticks out to me is his ability to use his hands.”

The 6-foot-4, 240 pound defensive end is the No. 2 defensive end in the state of Nevada and the 12th best in the West. Plant also held offers from Penn State and USC.

During his junior campaign, Plant recorded 25 total tackles, 5 12 for loss and four pass deflections.

Plant joins offensive lineman David Watson and quarterback Jamarye Joiner as part of the Wildcats’ three-person 2018 recruiting class.
