Four-star running back Jamal Elliott has committed to the Oregon Ducks after taking an unofficial visit to Eugene for the Ducks’ spring game.

The 5-foot-11 back from Durham, NC is the No. 11 running back in the class of 2018 according to 247Sports. When Elliott first received his offer from Oregon, he described it as a “dream offer”.
Elliott is an elusive back. The Hillside High School product utilizes his patience and vision to wait for holes to open, which he then explodes through with his shiftiness. Not only is Elliott able to torch defenders in the ground game, but he can burn them as a receiver as well.
The receiving aspect allows Elliott to be a three-down back. Elliott is able to produce game-changing plays in the open field, which will force defenders to stack the box and open up the passing game.
Elliott holds over 20 offers, including schools like LSU, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin. In fact, 24 hours before his commitment to Oregon, reports surfaced that Virginia Tech was the clubhouse leader for Elliott’s talents.
It is apparent that Elliott is loaded with talent. If he can bulk up once he reaches Eugene, along with reaching his ceiling, he should compete for earlier playing time once he reaches the collegiate level.
With Elliott’s commitment to the Ducks, Oregon now has two running backs commits in its 2018 class. The other back is 3-star Travis Dye.
