It’s been a huge week on the recruiting trail for Wyking Jones and the California Golden Bears basketball staff!
Two 2018 four-star players have given Jones a verbal commitment in as many days.
Let’s take a look at each one.
Jacobi Gordon
On Wednesday, Gordon tweeted he had committed to the Golden Bears.

Gordon, a 6’7 forward from Houston, had offers from multiple other schools, including Oregon, Oklahoma, DePaul, and many more.
Gordon was Cal’s first commit of the 2018 class, and his most recent highlight video can be found below.
As you can see, his offensive game is very polished. He can get to the rim fairly easy, and still step out and hit it from long range.
As Cal starts the post-Ivan Rabb and Cuonzo Martin era, a player like Gordon is a very nice piece to have waiting in the wings.
The Golden Bears weren’t done quite yet, though.
Matt Bradley
Less than 24 hours after Gordon committed, Scout’s Evan Daniels reported that four-star Matt Bradley had verbally committed to the Golden Bears, as well.

While also listed as a forward, Bradley is two inches shorter than Gordon, at 6’5.
Bradley is from San Bernardino, CA, and had offers from several local schools including San Diego State, UC Irvine, and others.
Bradley is quite a volume scorer, as you can see below. He had a 72-point game last season, and couldn’t resist talking about a certain UCLA commit afterwards.
If LiAngelo Ball sticks around for his sophomore season, the first UCLA/Cal matchup could be a lot of fun.
Cal has three scholarships remaining for 2018-19.
