Post-spring 2018 Pacific Takes Top 25: Washington creeps up near Top 5

Re-ranking the top 25 after spring football.

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Penn State vs Washington Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Georgia
  4. Ohio State
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Penn State
  8. Washington - The Huskies might actually be better than they have been the past two years when they made the CFP and the Fiesta Bowl. They’re stacked with proven talent that feels like it has been there forever now, young emerging stars, and Chris Petersen.
  9. Auburn
  10. Miami
  11. Michigan
  12. Michigan State
  13. West Virginia
  14. Stanford - The Cardinal will just keep chugging with Bryce Love, an experienced offensive line and receiver/tight end crew for the progressing K.J. Costello to work with. They have a lot of holes to patch on defense, but there is talent there to do it.
  15. TCU
  16. USC - The Trojans lose a lot, headlined by Sam Darnold, but as always, have a lot coming back. The defense should be strong and the offensive line improved. The key will be seeing if someone can step up at quarterback.
  17. Virginia Tech
  18. Notre Dame
  19. Texas
  20. Boise State
  21. Mississippi State
  22. LSU
  23. UCF
  24. South Carolina
  25. Oregon

On the edge

Florida State, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Utah - The Utes are a darkhorse South/overall Pac-12 title candidate. They have a lot of nice pieces on offense now and a defense that needs to reload a bit, but has shown the ability to do so under Kyle Whittingham time and time again.
