Pacific Takes Top 25 11/18: Oregon and Utah fighting it out with other one-loss teams

Oregon and Utah still the only Pac-12 teams in the Top 25.

NCAA Football: Arizona at Oregon Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports
  1. LSU 10-0
  2. Ohio State 10-0
  3. Clemson 11-0
  4. Alabama 9-1
  5. Georgia 9-1
  6. Oregon 9-1 - People want to rank the Ducks ahead of the one-loss SEC teams, but I don’t see how you do that. Common opponents are a flawed metric, but it just seems fair in this instance with Oregon’s loss coming to Auburn, who Georgia beat, and who Alabama has a great shot at beating, even with a backup QB and with Oregon lacking a win against a ranked opponent.
  7. Oklahoma 9-1
  8. Utah 9-1 - I’ll add for Utah, that they’re behind Oklahoma with the Sooners now having a win at Baylor. Utah still doesn’t have a signature win and has a bad loss just like Oklahoma at Kansas State
  9. Minnesota 9-1
  10. Penn State 9-1
  11. Baylor 9-1
  12. Florida 9-2
  13. Wisconsin 8-2
  14. Michigan 8-2
  15. Notre Dame 8-2
  16. Memphis 9-1
  17. Cincinnati 9-1
  18. SMU 9-1
  19. Boise State 9-1
  20. Auburn 7-3
  21. Iowa 7-3
  22. Texas A&M 7-3
  23. Oklahoma State 7-3
  24. Pitt 7-3
  25. Indiana 7-3
