Oregon and Utah are on a collision course for the Pac-12 Championship Game

Ducks and Utes could meet in San Jose

The college football season has made it to that part of the year where people start thinking about championships, playoffs, and bowl games. The Oregon Ducks and the Utah Utes are two teams that have thoughts of something special happening to end the 2019 football season.

Back in July at the Pac-12 Media Day, Oregon and Utah were the two teams that were picked by the media to end up in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

At this point we are on a collision course for these two teams meeting up in San Jose in December. Outside of some major injuries and some unforeseen loss along the way, the Utes and Ducks should be matched up in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Oregon and Utah do not play each other this year during the regular season. After the first College Football Playoff rankings came out on Tuesday night the hype for this conference title game will only increase.

Oregon is ranked seventh and Utah is right behind them in the eighth spot. The winner of this possible conference title game will have a solid argument to be included in the College Football Playoff this year.

The remainder of the schedule for both teams goes as follows:

Oregon

Nov 16: Arizona

Nov 23: @ Arizona State

Nov 30: Oregon State

Utah

Nov 16: UCLA

Nov 23: @ Arizona

Nov 30: Colorado

Both of these teams finish the remainder of their schedule having two of three games at home. When you take a look at the last three games for each team you come to the conclusion that all the games are extremely winnable. I do not see any of those other teams beating the Ducks or Utes. I just don’t.

Oregon and Utah are much more talented than any of the remaining teams on their schedule. Utah is big, strong, and have the requisite skilled players to beat Colorado, Arizona, and UCLA. Oregon has the speed, one of the best offensive lines, and a talented quarterback who will be a top-10 NFL Draft pick to beat the Wildcats, Sun Devils, and Beavers.

If you disagree I just need to know who you think Oregon and Utah will lose to in their last three games.

Oregon and Utah are the two best bets to have a shot at the College Football Playoff for the Pac-12. Lets hope their are two teams to have a legit shot at the playoff.

As a conference fan, I don’t need a two or three loss team to weasel its way into the Pac-12 Championship Game. I want best on best. I don’t want best on average.

Oregon and Utah are best on best.

Lets just hope it’s Oregon and Utah in the conference title game and then one of them get into the College Football Playoff.
