Slovis connected on 26-of-35 pass attempts for a whopping 456 yards and five touchdowns. He also chipped in with five carries for 28 yards.
The Trojans quarterback threw the game-winning score in overtime to defeat Washington State in an Instant Classic, 47-44. Despite three interceptions in the game, Slovis was on top of his game when it mattered most including going 4-for-4 for 75 yards and a score late in the third quarter that gave the Trojans the lead back.
Slovis has transformed the USC offense (with the help of OC Graham Harrell) into a high-flying, high-octane scoring machine and the Trojans cracked into the AP Top 25 after his performance.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Isaac Slade-Matautia, LB, Oregon

In the weekend’s biggest out-of-conference matchup, the Oregon Ducks held on to defeat the ACC’s Virginia Cavaliers and it was thanks in large part to an incredible defensive effort from the Ducks, in particular LB Isaac Slade-Matautia.
ISM caused three fumbles himself and brought down seven total tackles in the outing. He was integral on most snaps as he was sent to spy on talented QB Bryce Perkins, the Cavs do-it-all signal-caller who had run all over the field the week prior. Slade-Matautia held Perkins to just 4.1 yards per carry and ust 6.3 yards per pass attempt in their 31-21 win.
Coach of the Week:
Clay Helton, USC
Coach Helton led his team to a dramatic victory in overtime against Washington State, allowing true freshman QB Kedon Slovis to throw all over the Cougars defense. Despite two interceptions to start the second half, Helton made the decision to stay with his freshman quarterback, and after a pep talk with his young signal-caller, Slovis came back with an incredible second-half performance.
Helton and his new Air Raid offense with offensive coordinator Graham Harrell are turning heads nationwide.
