The UCLA Bruins have found their replacement for Dan Guerrero, nabbing Boston College Athletic Director Martin Jarmond as Guerrero’s successor. Jarmond hails from Chestnut Hill after three years as the Eagles AD and previously had a stint as Ohio State’s deputy AD.
The response to Jarmond’s hiring has been nothing but positive for UCLA, a change for the much maligned current seat. Guerrero has been met with much criticism for his moves as AD since his tenure began it seems, and all rightfully so. Jarmond now inherits a prickly situation, navigating Chip Kelly’s contract and success, or lack thereof, on the football field. Only time will tell how many feathers he will ruffle and how quickly he’ll do so in charge.
The Pac-12 also saw a lot of commitments this weekend, but none more notable than the 12th commit for the USC Trojans, giving them the fifth-ranked class nationally at this time. Colin Mobley joined the Trojans all the way from DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland and gives Clay Helton & Co. their fourth state represented. Helton’s attempt to take back the west is now national, and he doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
UCLA also received a commitment from Devin Kirkwood, their highest-ranked recruit to date for the class of 2021.
And as such, we’ll highlight all the happenings around the Pac-12, in one place, at one time.
