The Arizona Wildcats have sent one of the best defenders in program history off to the pros. After being barely recruited out of college, Scooby Wright is in the NFL, being selected 250th overall in the 7th round by the Cleveland Browns. Wright is the first Wildcat to be picked since 2014, when Ka'Deem Carey, Shaquille Richardson and Marquis Flowers were all picked.
Wright missed most of the 2015 season due to injury, but NFL scouts probably saw all they needed to of Wright from his spectacular sophomore 2014 campaign. Wright lifted a mediocre Arizona defense to a Pac-12 South championship with his instant impact presence. Wright logged an incredible 153 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and six forced fumbles, earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors and was the winner of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Rotary Lombardi Award, Jack Lambert Award, and the Chuck Bednarik Award.
Arizona fans, your thoughts on Scooby being picked?
