Pac-12 basketball standings: Arizona and Oregon take early lead in conference play

Can they stay on top?

NCAA Basketball: UCLA at Oregon Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

Oregon Ducks (2-0 in Pac-12, 13-2 overall): Oregon got their signature conference wins they needed early against UCLA and USC. They have to feel pretty safe.

Arizona Wildcats (2-0 in Pac-12, 13-2 overall): Arizona whipped through the Bay Area trip and look like a strong contender to win the conference.

Utah Utes (1-0 in Pac-12, 10-3 overall): Utah started Pac-12 play in promising fashion. But there’s work to be done.

Washington State Cougars (1-0 in Pac-12, 8-5 overall): Good early win for Wazzu! They’ll need more of those.

UCLA Bruins (1-1 in Pac-12, 14-1 overall): UCLA had their early setback, but returned to form against Oregon State. They still have really good odds to win the Pac-12.

USC Trojans (1-1 in Pac-12, 14-1 overall): USC is no longer undefeated, but if they can do well at home and keep road splits going their tournament hopes are strong.

California Golden Bears (1-1 in Pac-12, 10-4 overall): Cal is sitting on the outside looking in, but they have work to do.

Arizona State Sun Devils (1-1 in Pac-12, 8-7 overall): ASU is treading water, but they at least got the road split.

Colorado Buffaloes (0-1 in Pac-12, 10-4 overall): Colorado’s bubble chances weren’t helped by a rough beating from Utah.

Washington Huskies (0-1 in Pac-12, 7-6 overall): The disastrous season for Washington continues after losing to likely conference cellar dweller Wazzu.

Stanford Cardinal (0-2 in Pac-12, 8-6 overall): Stanford is not off to a strong start after a narrow loss to Arizona State and a demolition by Arizona.

Oregon State Beavers (0-2 in Pac-12, 4-11 overall): It’s looking like it’ll be a lost season for Oregon State after getting whipped by UCLA and rallying for a respectable result against USC.
