We start looking a little bit at the big quarterback recruiting battles on the West Coast for 2014. Justin Hopkins of 247Sports breaks down the major recruiting issues and we take a close look too.

Palo Alto (Calif.) QB Keller Chryst will likely come down to Stanford and USC. Chryst is quite potentially the best pro-style quarterback in the 2014 recruiting class and it might be a battle between the Trojans and the Cardinal to win his services. Chryst's two reported unofficial visits have come at USC and at Stanford.

Novato (Calif.) QB Manny Wilkins has yet to receive offers, but Oregon could be the favorite if they give him one. Wilkins has visited Oregon and received visits from Cal and Utah.

Oaks Christian (Calif.) QB Brandon Dawkins has two offers, one from Utah and the other from Notre Dame.

Desert Mountain (Ariz.) QB Kyle Allen has been rounding the Junior Day circuit. UCLA (February 9th), Arizona (February 2nd), and ASU (January 26th) have been checked out the past three weeks, and all three schools have offered. Oklahoma State and Arizona State reportedly have the jump at this point. Allen recapped junior day at Arizona ($) and enjoyed himself at UCLA ($).

Norman (Okla.) QB David Cornwell could be in the mix at UCLA too, listing the Bruins as a potential top two school. Washington State has also offered.

Junipero Serra (Calif.) QB Jalen Greene visited UCLA recently for junior day ($). He still doesn't have any offers yet.

Casa Grande (Calif.) QB JaJuwan Lawson has several early offers, including one from Arizona. Lawson will be at USC Junior Day.

Bellarmine Prep (Calif.) QB K.J. Carta-Samuels has been committed happily to Vanderbilt for some time. However, he will listen to other schools.

Marin Catholic (Calif.) QB Morgan Mahalak will be at USC Junior Day. The University of Miami is also trying to get in the mix.

Inderkum (Calif.) QB CJ Spencer took an unofficial visit to Washington State for Junior Day.
