Ventura (Ca.) St. Bonaventure wide receiver Lavan Alston will utilize one of his official visits to Nebraska the week before National Signing Day. Washington State is also getting a visit on January 16th. Cal and Oregon State are also in the mix, and a late USC offer could throw a monkey wrench into proceedings.

New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton linebacker Arthur McGinnis is taking one of his officials to Arizona the weekend of January 16th. The Sooners are coming in two weeks. McGinnis has a top four of Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

There are whispers that Masina and Salem (Ut.) Hills linebacker Porter Gustin (Army All American Defensive MVP) might think of committing to the same school. Gustin has a final three of Arizona State and USC (just like Masina, and for Gustin his leaders ($)) with Ohio State the wildcard. Gustin will visit USC January 16th, Arizona State January 23rd, and Ohio State January 30th.

San Marcos (Ca.) Mission Hills athlete DeChaun Holiday has a top four of Arizona State (visiting January 16), Washington (January 23), UCLA (January 30), USC (been there plenty). Video from the Army Bowl discussion his recruitment ($).

Trinity Christian (Fl.) linebacker Victor Alexander is committed to UCLA and is set to visit this week. Virginia Tech is also in the mix ($), and Georgia Tech will get a visit on January 23.

Cedar Hills (Tx.) wide receiver Damarkus Lodge has taken visits to Ole Miss (another one January 23), USC, LSU, Texas A&M  (another one January 16), and reportedly will put Ohio State over Oregon in his top 5 because they won the title game. Michigan also interests him ($). Texas is also a possibility and Baylor has some buzz too.
