Outside of UCLA vs. Nebraska, which game intrigues you the most and why?
Sean Reynolds, Block U: Utah and Oregon State. The Utes are trying to prove they're this year's Beavers ... and Oregon State is trying to prove last year wasn't a fluke.
Jack Follman, Pacific Takes: Wisconsin at Arizona State. I think these two teams are evenly matched and it will be a test to see if the Sun Devils can live up to their expectations under Todd Graham. It will be a tough, grind-it-out game between two good, but not great teams that will be looking for a signature win out-of-conference.
Patrick Flower, Pacific Takes: Washington @ Illinois. I would pick Tennessee @ Oregon but I fully expect the Ducks to win big at home. Washington is traveling to Champaign against what appears to be a decent Illinois team. I fully expect the Illini to make a bowl but that won't be good enough to beat Washington, who showed prowess on both sides of the ball in a win over Boise State.
Phil Fraser, Ralphie Report: Colorado vs. Fresno State. This game last year was the absolute low point among a string of low points for the program. Colorado was defeated before they got off the bus and just got boat raced from the jump. If I can remove myself from fandom and pretend that it's another CU (maybe Cornell?), the game thread on TRR is actually kind of hilarious. So after beating a bad Colorado State team and n FCS team, this is a big litmus test. Can we improve like we did against Cal a few year's back? Can a better team slow down Paul Richardson? Can the Buffs stop anyone in the KR game? The answers to these will likely give us a true glimpse into what to expect for conference play.
Jason Bartel, AZ Desert Swarm: "There's a bunch of really intriguing games this week.
ASU/Wisconsin - Can the Devils get a quality win before heading to Stanford next week.
Cal/Ohio State - Another Big Ten match up for the Bears. Do they do better against the Buckeyes than against Northwestern?
Colorado/Fresno State - How do the Buffs do against a high-caliber QB?
Utah/Oregon State - Who would have thought Utah would come into this game with the better record and the more impressive showings?
And to go homer here, Arizona/UTSA - UTSA put 35 on Oklahoma State last week, while Mississippi State only managed 3 against the Cowboys the week before. Larry Coker's no joke, even though this is only the third year of UTSA football."
