A half-dozen Pac-12 defensive backs make Jim Thorpe watchlist

NCAA Football: Pac-12 Championship-Colorado vs Washington Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Pac-12 has the defending Jim Thorpe award winner in Adoree’ Jackson. Can another rise to take their place.

Utah Utes defensive back Chase Hansen. Hansen is one of the best safeties in the Pac-12 and the team’s leading tackle.

USC Trojans defensive back Iman Marhsall. Marshall is ready to step in and become USC’s next spectacular secondary talent.

Stanford Cardinal defensive back Quenton Meeks. Meeks was hobbled last season, but when he played, Stanford generally won.

Washington Huskies defensive back Taylor Rapp. In a defense full of spectacular talents, Rapp could be the one who has the highest chance of succeeding professionally.

Stanford Cardinal defensive back Justin Reid. Keep an eye out on Reid, who could team up with Meeks to form the backbone of a lockdown Stanford safety.

UCLA Bruins defensive back Jaleel Wadood. Wadood hasn’t had a ton of chance to shine at UCLA, but if the Bruins bounce back he will play a huge role.
