The Stanford Cardinal have sent yet another tight end to the NFL. Austin Hooper was selected 81st in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Hooper becomes the fourth Stanford tight end this decade to make it to the pros, joining Coby Fleener, Zach Ertz and Levine Toilolo.

Hooper broke out in his final season at Stanford after a very solid sophomore campaign, making multiple All-American teams and the All Pac-12 first team as a tight end. Hooper locked down 34 catches for 438 yards and six touchdowns his final season and is looking like he'll be able to challenge to get on the field early with his versatility as a blocking tight end, a wide receiver, and doing other things as well. His big physical frame makes him an imposing target for opposing defenses to try and lock down.
