Jim Mora has announced that starting nickelback Ishmael Adams will be suspended indefinitely by the UCLA Bruins and will not be available for the season opener against Virginia. Adams is being accused of robbing an Uber driver of his cell phone and was arrested by UCLA police early Sunday morning. Mora made it clear that until additional facts were made available, the suspension would stay in place.
Adams was released on bail on Tuesday morning. He is set to appear in court on September 22nd, so don't expect Adams suiting up for UCLA anytime this month. If he is able to get the charges dismissed against him, there might be a chance he returns to the field, but that's a lot of "if".
UCLA will have to figure out what to do with regards to their secondary. Fabian Moreau and Marcus Rios is still the plan at cornerback, but who will start at nickel back and take over primary return responsibilities?
