Another UCLA Bruin has been selected in this year's draft! This time it's Paul Perkins, who is the newest running back from the Bruins to enter the league. Perkins was picked 149th in the 5th round by the New York Giants. Perkins figures to join a running back rotation somewhere in the NFL and be a productive member of a backfield in the upcoming seasons.
The UCLA Bruins running back had one of the most productive careers in Westwood history. Perkins was fourth in the Pac-12 in rushing (1,343 yards) and sixth in all-purpose yards avg. (121.9) this season, finishing in a tie for second with 15 touchdowns overall. Perkins made second-team All-Conference and is now third all-time in rushing yards (3,491) and fifth in all-purpose yards (4,236). With UCLA shifting between quarterbacks this past season, Perkins was the constant on offense, and kept UCLA from falling too far off track on that side of the football.
Bruins fans, thoughts on Perkins?
