Let’s quickly run down the projections from CBS Sports.
Palm has Oregon and USC in Selection Committee Bowl games, apparently convinced that the conference will cannibalize itself (his playoff teams are TCU, Auburn, Ohio State and Clemson). Oregon ends up in Pasadena with Wisconsin, while USC head to Glendale as an at-large to play Boise State.
Stanford heads to the Alamo Bowl to face Oklahoma, Arizona State is off to the Holiday Bowl to battle Iowa, UCLA heads to San Francisco to play Minnesota in the Forster Farms Bowl, Arizona faces off with Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl, and Utah takes on San Diego State in Vegas for the Royal Purple Bowl.
Hey buddy, I think you're in the wrong state. The University of Utah was quick to notice, the University of Arizona was quite happy he was there.
The great Utah quarterback was benched by Jim Harbaugh during his time with the 49ers.
The Utah Utes have been teasing some new uniforms they'll be using this season, and now they have shown us some really rad duds they'll be putting up on display for their season opener Thursday night against the Michigan Wolverines. What does Ute Nation think about these red chromes?
Popular Mechanics thinks either the Utah Utes or the Michigan Wolverines are a cupcake.
The Michigan Wolverines have all-white uniforms they'll be debuting in their first road game against the Utah Utes, so Utah is countering with these super cool helmets. Check out Block U for more on the Utes.
The Utah Utes and BYU Cougars took a two year reprieve from the Holy War in 2014 and 2015, although the two are scheduled to meet the three years after that in 2016, 2017, and 2018. It looks like there are plans on the table for the next four years after that, with at least 2019 and 2020 looking likely.
Utah did manage to replace BYU and Michigan these two years, so it hardly looks like a mistake, and they should have no trouble hosting marquee teams in the future. Independent BYU needs marquee squads on a schedule that should generally always have openings, so they should be able to play Utah every year.
More from Deseret News on Phillips:
"I do think we’ll be a lot better," said Phillips, who acknowledged that there’s still pressure on the program to continue proving itself — as evidenced by preseason polls that have the Utes finishing fourth or fifth in the ultra-competitive Pac-12 South. "We know what kind of team we are and that just motivates us even more, because I think we’re going to come out and knock some people out."
