Kevin Palma made his commitment to Stanford on Sunday night.
"I just love the program and the academics," Palma said. "It doesn't get any better than Stanford when you are looking for the best of both. I love the proximity to home too so my family can see me play."
Palma considers himself a solid commit, but has not firmly decided if he wants to take any other trips.
Palma is a local California athlete, attending school in Mission Oak High in Tulare in the Central Valley. Palma measured in around 6-1/6-2 and 225-240 pounds depending on who you believe. His rumored 40-yard dash is around 4.5 seconds.
Here are the various rankings from the recruiting services.
- Palma was ranked 222nd overall among the top 247 recruits from 247Sports, the 12th overall inside linebacker, and the 23rd best recruit from the state of California.
- 58th overall in the state of California and 26th among all inside linebackers for Rivals.
- 9th overall middle linebacker for Scout.
- ESPN gives Palma a scouting grade of 76, and he's ranked 101st among athletes, 98th overall recruit in California.
Palma also had offers from schools like Colorado, Oregon State, and UCLA in the Pac-12 and schools like Fresno State, Utah State, Nevada, New Mexico State and San Diego State.
