The USC Trojans fell in the college football rankings after Alabama throttled Michigan. But they remain firmly perched behind the team in front of them, receiving a good 10% of the first place ballots and remaining the consensus #2 team in the rankings. It'll take some happenstance for either LSU or Oregon to pass them.
The Ducks remain perched in the fourth spot. Stanford slides down the list, barely staying in the top 25 after a near-defeat to San Jose State.
Two more Pac-12 teams received votes. The Utah Utes finished 28th overall, a nice rise but not too significant. Makes sense after a solid victory over an overmatched opponent. The Washington Huskies had a bit more trouble against a decent opponent, really changing up the equation before their tilt against LSU.
Right now it look as if more steps need to be taken for an agreement can be made, but if it does get into shape you have to imagine the big provers will be more interested in carrying the network now that they've seen the promotions.
Here's the official blogpoll ballot.
