Midterm: Who is your candidate for Pac-12 defensive player of the year and why?
Jack Follman, Pacific Takes: Anthony Barr - He's the best pure player on any defense and leads the league in tackles-for-loss and is up there in sacks too.
Jason Bartel, AZ Desert Swarm: I'm gonna go with Anthony Barr I guess. Leads the conference in tackles for loss by a lot, and is third in the conference in sacks. I will say that Arizona's Tra'Mayne Bondurant has been a pleasant surprise for the Wildcats.
Josh Schlichter, Pacific Takes: Anthony Barr. Without question the most dangerous defender in the conference, if not the entire nation. While Keenan Graham, who comes off the opposite edge of Barr, leads the conference in sacks, Barr has the edge in TFLs, and has emerged as the conference's premier defensive talent.
