Five Pac-12 Teams in AP and USA Today Coaches Top 25 Polls

Washington catapults into the Top 25 and Oregon moves up to the second spot in the AP poll.

Steven Bisig-US PRESSWIRE

Oregon - #2 AP & #3 USA Today Coaches

The big news here is that the Ducks jumped over Ohio State in the AP poll (going from #3 to #2), likely because the Buckeyes didn't hammer Buffalo as hard as they probably should have. The Ducks might be able to grab the second spot in the Coaches Poll if they can blow out Virginia on the road on Saturday.

Stanford #4 USA Today Coaches & #5 AP

The Cardinal got bumped back in the AP by Clemson during their week off due to the Tigers' impressive win over Georgia. The Cardinal generally don't blow teams out, so they might be at risk for getting regularly bump even if they don't lose as the season progresses.

UCLA #18 AP & USA Today Coaches

A blowout of Nevada and teams losing in front of them was able to bump up the Bruins three spots in both polls. They now have a week off before their showdown at Nebraska, which will help them jump up if they can pull off the win.

Washington #20 AP & #23 USA Today Coaches

The Huskies catapulted themselves into both Top 25 polls with their destruction of nineteenth-ranked Boise State. This is the highest that the Huskies have been rated in a very long time.

USC #22 USA Today Coaches & #25 AP

Interesting as the Trojans were rewarded for their lazy win over Hawaii by the Coaches poll, as they moved up two spots, but fell a spot in the AP poll. Unless the Trojans can show themselves to be more energetic against Washington State this Saturday, they might risk slipping out of the Top 25.

Dropped out

Oregon State

The Beavers were ranked in both polls, but deservedly tumbled out after getting upset by FCS Eastern Washington.
