The Arizona Wildcats are making defense the priority in this recruiting classes. Arizona's defense got shredded last year and needs huge upgrades to be competitive in the Pac-12. Rich Rodriguez knows this, and had the Wildcats prioritize top defenders.

Chacho Ulloa to Arizona: Safety recruit signs with Wildcats over Oregon, Stanford [Jason Bartel, Arizona Desert Swarm]: "It seems to have come down to Arizona and Oregon for the highly-regarded safety out of Corona, CA. Ranked the 22nd-best player at his position, there's certainly a chance that under the tutelage of coach Williams, Ulloa will come in and make an immediate impact in the Arizona secondary."

Lorenzo Burns to Arizona: CB recruit signs with Wildcats, spurns Colorado [Gabe Encinas, Arizona Desert Swarm]: "Burns is a freak athlete with some freakish speed. Most of his highlights are of him playing on offense, which also gives you the idea that the staff wouldn't be opposed to turning him over to the other side of the ball."

Kahi Neves to Arizona: 3-star linebacker enrolls early with Wildcats over Utah [Ryan Kelpaire, Arizona Desert Swarm]: "Neves, who hails from Utah, was once committed to the Utah Utes. However, he was committed to Utah as a quarterback, and he figured that his best chance to have a successful college career was as a linebacker and Arizona was recruiting him as such, thus his decision to be a Wildcat."

Jacob Colacion to Arizona: OLB recruit signs with Wildcats [Nick Latta, Arizona Desert Swarm]: "What made Colacion's recruitment process interesting is that he only officially visited one school, Arizona. I got a chance to talk with him and he said this about only visiting Arizona: "I was sure that Arizona was the only place for me. I wanted to show respect to Arizona that I wasn't considering any other schools."
