The California Golden Bears need to upgrade on their offensive line talent if they expect to win physical battles upfront. They started to make progress this weekend, ending up getting a solid verbal from Bishop O’Dowd offensive lineman Miles Owens.

Here’s more from California Golden Blogs on his commitment and what role Owens could end up playing with the Bears.

Miles is listed at 6’7” and 310 lbs. He will most likely play one of the tackle spots on the line. This commit is huge, literally and figuratively, because he currently attends Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, California. Yes, that is the same school that produced the likes of Ivan Rabb, Burl Toler, Micahel Gray, Kevin Klein, Hardy Nickerson Jr, Tarik Glenn, and Jesse Brooks.

Cal has made a concerted effort to really get the best local talent in the new Justin Wilcox regime. Getting these Bears from nearby programs.
