The Colorado Buffaloes now have several defensive back commits in this class to keep the pass defense staying positive. Their latest comes from the state of California in the form of Atwater (Ca.) Buhach Colony safety Lavon Wallace.

Wallace is a three star prospect for 247Sports Composite (0.8180), ranked as the 128th best safety and the 214th best prospect in California. Wallace also held offers from Cal, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Jose State, Utah and Wyoming.

Here are his video highlights.

His tape looks good. Once again, the coaching staff lands a defensive back that fits Coach Mac’s preferred mold to a tee. LJ is long, aggressive, and physical. As a part time receiver, he also has great ball skills and high-points the reception easily. It takes him a bit to get up to full speed, but he closes quickly with his long legs. He would fit in at safety or cornerback for the Buffs.
