Beavs eye JC corner Montavious Smoke [Angie Machado, Beaver Blitz]: "Oregon State coaches are constantly looking for players who could play in the PAC 12 conference and make the team better. They scour the high school and junior college ranks and start building relationships early."

Early Look at Visitors [Beaver Blitz]: "After a month long dead period, coaches are able to hit the road once again on Thursday and programs will be able to host official visitors once again this weekend. This is an early look at the visitors and BeaverBlitz will have another breakdown as we near the weekend."

Hirkley Latu, 3-star LB/S, visiting Oregon State Beavers this weekend [Andrew Nemec, Oregonian]: "One of the few remaining priority recruits is Rivals three-star safety/linebacker Hirkley Latu, who has scheduled an official visit to Corvallis this weekend."

Shurod Thompson, 4-star safety, cancels Utah Utes visit, solid with Oregon State Beavers [Andrew Nemec, Oregonian]: "I canceled all of it after talking with Coach Andersen (on Tuesday). We had the best talk I've had amongst any head coach," Thompson said. "It wasn't about football. We left that out of the conversation. He wants my leadership to become a part of the defense moving forward. I'm also a big piece of helping this program become prestigious."
