WSU football recruiting: Luca Vartic gets offer from Cougars

Could the Cougars get their hands on a cornerback prospect?

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Luca Vartic has taken several unofficial visits to Pac-12 schools, including UCLA and Cal. Vatic received his first offer from Hawaii, and now the Washington State Cougars have stepped up to the plate.

Vartic lands his first P5 offer [Doug Kimmel, Scout]: "I've been hearing a lot from Washington State these past few weeks," Vartic told Scout. "When Coach Salave'a messaged me today on Twitter, I had a good feeling. I gave him a call and we chatted for a bit and he ended up telling me that I had an offer from the Cougars. I'm really excited. This is a big one for me. WAZZU is a Pac-12 school and I feel like they are really on the rise. They've got a lot of good young talent and they are building something up there."

Vartic lands first Pac-12 offer [Blair Angulo, Rivals]: "Luca Vartic visited California during the season last year and again two months ago, but another school jumped in with an offer earlier this week to become the first Pac-12 program to join the chase."
