Fantasy Star of the Week
Matt Scott QB Arizona
Scott has blown up in Rich Rodriguez' system and he had his best game of the year so far against South Carolina State passing for nearly 300 yards while tossing 3 touchdowns and running for one more. Scott is now the leading fantasy scorer in the conference through the first 3 weeks and I have been lucky enough to have him on my team, Complete Scouting Services.
Surprise Player of the Week
Connor Halliday QB Washington State
Halliday stepped in for the injured Jeff Tuel against UNLV and picked up right where he did last year when he took over for Tuel, throwing for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns. Halliday was a huge pickup for Bring the Buff in our Pacific Takes Fantasy Football League as there is a good chance Halliday will remain the Cougars starting quarterback.
Biggest Disappointment
Matt Barkley QB USC
I don't think anyone saw this coming. Barkley struggled against Stanford, throwing two interceptions without any touchdowns while he was pressured all game. Look for Barkley to bounce back next week against Cal, but I don't think anyone predicted that Barkley would have as low scoring a game as he had against the Cardinal this year.
Top 10 Points Leaders
1. Matt Scott QB Arizona 110 points
2. Brett Hundley QB UCLA 91 points
3. Johnathan Franklin RB UCLA 87 points
4. Matt Barkley QB USC 85 points
5. Marcus Mariota QB Oregon 77 points
6. De'Anthony Thomas RB Oregon 76 points
7. Ka'Deem Carey RB Arizona 72 points
8. Kenjon Barner RB Oregon 72 points
9. Stepfan Taylor RB Stanford 64 points
10. Marqise Lee WR USC 61 points
Start Him Next Week
Marquess Wilson WR Washington State
Wilson started out slow this year but finally broke out with 2 touchdowns against UNLV. Wilson gets Colorado this week whose defense gave up 300 yards and 5 touchdowns to Fresno State last week and it's likely that they will give up even more in Pullman no matter which quarterback is starting for the Cougars.
Sit Him Next Week
John White RB Utah
White unexpectedly sat out last week against BYU and it sounds like he is still beat up as his status for Saturday's game against Arizona State is uncertain.
