The Arizona State Sun Devils have their newest recruiting commit in defensive end Michael Matus! It’s ASU’s first defensive line commit of this class and their seventh recruit overall.

Arizona State is currently stacked on defensive line depth (over a dozen currently on the team), so the Sun Devils are not too concerned with trying to find too much talent at this position. But defensive line is critical if ASU is going to return to their former status as Pac-12 South contenders, so getting bodies here like Matus who can rush the passer and cause havoc is critical.
More from House of Sparky on the commitment.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound class of 2018 recruit is rated a three-star and the 35th best defensive end in the nation by Rivals. Matus is considered a three-star prospect by both Scout and 247 Sports.
Matus ran a 4.87 40-yard dash and was timed 4.20 on his 20-yard shuttle, which earned the fastest time in the nation, according to ESPN.
Here’s more tape on Matus.
