Greg Biggins of Scout files this report:
Griffin is a two-way standout for the Diablos but has focused on defense this off-season and when healthy, is a shut down corner. He's both quick and fast, has good ball skills and has a chance to be a special player at the next level.
Griffin is garnering interest from programs like the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans, Washington Huskies, MIchigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Texas A&M Aggies. The Mission Viejo prospect is considered a top 50 prospect, and a top 10 California and cornerback recruit according to 247Sports Composite.
Here’s a scouting report on Griffin:
We love his upside at the next level as a shutdown corner and his length, quickness, ball skills and toughness should allow him to see the field early as a freshman. Griffin is more athletic than given credit for and has very good top end speed and short area quickness. He has excellent ball skills for a corner and has the ability to not just defend a pass but to make a play on the ball and do something with it after he catches it.
