Pacific Takes Top 25 9/28: Oregon falls out of Top 25, Utah shoots up to number three

UCLA and Utah sneak into the Top Five.

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

1. Ohio State 4-0

2. Mississippi 4-0

3. Utah 4-0

It seems crazy to put the Utes at third, but they have proven more than just about any body in college football thus far. They got a nice win over a good-looking Michigan team, throttled Oregon and controlled a solid Utah State team all while looking like a well-oiled machine. The Utes deserve to be here until proven otherwise.

4. UCLA 4-0

The Bruins put their scare against BYU behind them by throttling Arizona. The Bruins look like a team without any weaknesses exposed thus far that might be the most complete team in the Pac-12.

5. Baylor 3-0

6. Michigan State 4-0

7. Georgia 4-0

8. LSU 3-0

9. TCU 4-0

10. Oklahoma 3-0

11. Florida State 3-0

12. Alabama 3-1

13. Notre Dame 4-0

14. Northwestern 4-0

15. Clemson 3-0

16. Stanford 3-1

The Cardinal dominated Oregon State in a very un-recent-Stanford why by putting up 42 on them. The Cardinal could be a serious Playoff candidate if their offense can keep up their recent amount of production.

17. USC 3-1

USC did exactly what they needed to do to bounce back from their loss to Stanford by destroying Arizona State on the road. The Trojans are still right in the thick of things.

18. Texas A&M 4-0

19. Mississippi State 3-1

20. Florida 4-0

21. Cal 4-0

They weren't pretty, but the Bears got back-to-back solid road wins and at least looks like they have an offense that will keep them winning games in the Pac-12 and their defense actually looked pretty good against Washington. They have a legit shot to win the Pac-12 North.

22. Oklahoma State 4-0

23. Wisconsin 3-1

24. Michigan 3-1

25. West Virginia 3-0
